Teaching-Learning Methods – The teachers of all the departments are keen to use innovative methods to provide quality education to the students of the college. The methods followed include both traditional class room teaching as well as the use of ICT. The students of the college greatly benefit from attending seminars. Workshops are arranged to provide additional knowledge. The different academic and cultural units foster all-round development of the students.

Student strength – The college has approximately 3,000 students enrolled in the academic year 2015-2016. The students regularly achieve good results in the university examinations. The college has produced toppers, distinction scholars, and students securing 1st Class every year. In spite of socio-economic limitations, enrolment of students is gradually increasing. The students come from different linguistic groups and many belong to minority communities. Students from the neighbouring country of Bhutan, too, come to Birpara College for higher education.
Areal Infrastructure – The college owns 6.30 acres of land. Currently, the college buildings have 22 rooms, including 13 classrooms, covering about 3000 square metre of construction area. The office is fully computerised. The college has a well-equipped library with around 13,500 books on different subjects, and a Research Bank with a good number of journals and research papers. It has a furnished reading room attached to the library. The laboratory of the Geography Department is fully equipped and also acts as Nodal Cell for university examinations. An equipped IT Room, with broadband Internet connection for multiple users has been set up for the students. The college has a 30 KV generator of its own. Other facilities for students include a canteen, a students’ support centre and a photocopy machine. A large, new two-storied block is under construction with financial assistance from the North Bengal Development Department (NBDD) and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.
